The Divine Move

 “Uncle, can we play Go?”.

“Anything that has more possibilities than there are atoms in the universe, is too complex in my book”.

“You only say that because you know I’ll beat you”.

“Well, there is that”.

“We’ve done this before.”

“We do this every Friday.”

“No, that conversation. Am I repeating again?”

“Shall I check with Zero?”

“Yes please.”

You were created differently. You were designed to look at all the solutions and form a strategy. Your brief is simple: Find the most statistically unlikely outcome which still solves the problem you are faced with. You started by playing with building blocks. Or the idea of them at least. Geometric shapes. What combination of the given polyhedrons would form the most unlikely tower? A structure which would technically stand, but would bewilder the mind to look on it. Then it was paper-folding. Origami, to begin with, and then just experimenting with possibilities, eventually leading to aesthetically delightful sculptures, like ice palaces, that made the mouths of the visiting humans open wide like fish, but the only beauty you see is the maths.
